It is important for every church to focus on today, but also to have an eye on the future. When our church focuses on missions, youth, and taking care of our facility we do it not just for today, but for future generations of our faith community. A strong endowment can help us protect the future of Heart of Longmont UMC, and our Endowment and Planned Giving Committee (“Committee”) has been working to keep an eye on the future.
With the assistance of a grant from Mountain Sky United Methodist Foundation, the church has partnered with Dr. Rhodes Logan of Horizons Stewardship to assist the Committee in growing our endowment and encouraging our members to think about leaving Heart of Longmont UMC in their Will and estate plans.
One of the first steps in this process is asking you to complete a confidential survey. The survey is less than ten questions and will not take long to complete. But it will provide helpful information about Heart of Longmont as a faith community.
So people have a choice in how to complete the survey; online or paper. Paper copies of the survey are available in the church office and will be at the hospitality desk this Sunday. The electronic version can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HeartofLongmont .
We want to thank you for your assistance with the survey. If you have any questions, please visit with me or a member of the Committee (Keith Watson, Ray Allison, Rod Edmonds, Butch Howard, Paul Johnston or Mark Vancura).
