(from Tricia Grafelman)
Six Adventurers (Rod and Joan Edmonds, Dawn Dasi, Kerri Hickman, Kim Sam, and myself) and one neighbor, Ellie Macrae attended to serve at the Food Bank of the Rockies in Denver on Feb 23rd.
We built bags of food for elementary age students to teach them and their families how to cook colorfully. It is a pilot program with instructions typed on a sheet with the recipe and the teachers go through the recipe with them and then they send it home with the children to make with their families. Our bags were full of all the things necessary to make healthy chicken salad. Celery, canned chicken, apples, craisens, mayonnaise, pita bread and the instructions sheet.
We had a great time serving the community and connecting as a team ourselves. We would like to invite anyone from our church to join us on the next outing…be on the look out for details.
