In response to the economic impact of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Heart of Longmont established the ACTS 4 Love Fund. In the fourth chapter of the Book of Acts we hear this about the early church: There was not a needy person among them, for as many as owned lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold. They laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. (Acts 4:34-35)
The point of the ACTS 4 Love Fund is to help provide some economic relief to those in our congregation who may have been affected by loss of income, lay-offs or furloughs. Anyone in the congregation who has a bill that needs payment, but is struggling to find the money can apply. Simple send an email to Pastor David at email@example.com and let him know how the fund might help. Requests are totally confidential.
Many people from our congregation stepped up and contributed to the fund and to date we have helped three families from our church.
Since we know the long-term impact of the pandemic will be felt for a long time, we want to make sure there are funds to help others.
The Outreach Team has designated the month of June’s Compassion Offering for the ACTS 4 Love Fund. You can make a gift to this fund my sending a check to the office and mark it either “Compassion Offering” or “ACTS 4 Love”.
Thank you and God bless.
